The Magical Kingdom of Camelot

Jousting Facts

The Sport of Kings

‘In medieval times a sport arose
embraced by noble and peasant fans alike
though only the noble knights could compete
The sport was Jousting’

When most people think of jousting, they think of medieval knights charging against one another for a fair maiden’s hand. What the king figured out early was that he lost a lot of good knights to injury that way!

So he introduced Jousting Tournaments as these were a way for knights to prove their combat skill and horsemanship, yet avoid unnecessary risk of injury.

Camelot’s daily Jousting Tournaments give you the chance to marvel at the spectacular horsemanship of the Knights of the Round Table and of course cheer for your favourite knight! Experience all the colour and spectacle of bygone days in an all action, fast and furious extravaganza.
